As the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship heads to the revered Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium’s Ardennes forest, Jake Hughes aims to capitalise on his winning momentum following his first victory of the season in Spain.

The Brit started from second on the grid in the opening race of the Spanish weekend and made a decisive move past Logan Sargeant to claim a lead he would never relinquish, handing Jake and his HWA RACELAB team their first victory of the season.

With two podium finishes from the previous two rounds, Jake and the team have firmly found a rhythm and are looking forward to utilising that this weekend.

The Spa-Francorchamps circuit sits as one of the most iconic race tracks in the world with renowned corners such as Eau Rouge, Pouhon and Blanchimont all proving a true test of a driver’s skill.

Jake himself has tasted success around the 4.352-mile circuit in the past with a win apiece in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and Formula Renault 2.0 Alps in 2015.

Currently sat seventh in the championship standings on 63.5 points, Jake is fast approaching the top five - just 16.5 points away. With changeable weather conditions looking increasingly likely for the weekend, Jake aims to cut the gap even further.

“I’m excited to be back in the car this weekend. We’ve been buoyed by our recent form and to have that first win of the year definitely helps in keeping morale high. I always enjoy coming to Spa-Francorchamps and can see no reason why we shouldn’t have another strong weekend. We’re continuously improving as a team and with the weather looking as it is, I’m confident we can put together a good showing.”
