Joining the team for the entirety of the 2022 season, Jake will help spearhead VAR’s inaugural season in the single-seater championship.

Following an excellent FIA F3 campaign in 2020, where Jake accrued two wins and four podium finishes, the Birmingham-based driver competed in select rounds of FIA F2 in 2021 - claiming a career-best result of fourth place at Sochi with HWA RACELAB, mastering abysmal weather conditions to lead the team with a superb qualifying performance.

 
After a productive testing programme following the conclusion of the 2021 championship, Jake and Van Amersfoort Racing are excited to begin the team’s FIA F2 journey - which starts in Bahrain on the weekend of March 19-20th.

Returning to a two-race format for 2022, the championship will return to several tracks for the first time in two years with events in Barcelona, Spielberg and Spa-Francorchamps all returning to the calendar.

 
The series will also return to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit whilst visiting Imola and the team’s home race at Zandvoort for the very first time.

Continuous front runners in several championships, the team have claimed title glory in German Formula Three and Formula Renault 2.0 and most recently in Italian F4 and ADAC Formula 4. After achieving incredible success over the years, Jake is proud to be joining the team in 2022 as they embark on a new chapter.
